The story of village Sati of Khairgarh block is unique in itself. This land has been the penance place of Maharaj Shantanu, the father of Bhishma Pitamah during the Mahabharata period. It is said that it was named Santi after his name. In this village there is an ancient temple of Lord Bholenath by the name of Shanteshwar Nath. This temple is the center of faith for the surrounding district.
On the day of Shivratri, a huge crowd of devotees gather to visit this temple. Devotees come on foot from many kilometers away to visit this temple. Apart from Lord Shiva, his entire family including the idols of Mother Parvati, Lord Ganesha, Kartikeya and Nandi are present in this temple.
The statues installed in this temple are thousands of years old. This temple was established by Maharaj Shantanu. He came here before the Mahabharata war.
