The Shiva temple situated in Kiloi village has remained a symbol of faith for the devotees for hundreds of years. The ancient Shivalinga of Kiloi village, located about 20 kilometers from Rohtak city, is hundreds of years old. This has also been confirmed by the survey of the Archeology Department. However, according to the villagers, this Shivalinga was discovered in 1776. But even before this it is being claimed that there was a Shivalinga here. This ancient Shivalinga of Kiloi village remains a center of faith for Shiva devotees not only in Rohtak but also in all the surrounding villages.

According to Saurabh Atri, head of the ancient Shiv Kapileshwar Dham Trust, Seth Bakshiram Garg, a resident of village Kiloi, was returning to the village in 1776 after purchasing goods from the city. At that time there used to be an earthen mound here. He felt tired on the way and sat down here under the Peepal tree to rest. While resting, he realized that there was something on the ground at that place. After which the villagers excavated the mound and found a Shivalinga about one meter high. Seth Bakshiram built the temple here. There is also an ancient pond near the temple.
