Gauri Shankar Temple

This temple is 250 years old. It is situated in Mohalla Khakra on the banks of river Devaha and Khakra. It is said that the prominent son of priest Pandit Har Prasad came to this place along with other saints. There was a forest here at that time. He had dreamed of Lord Shankar at night, in the morning he saw the idol of Lord Shankar. Gradually a temple was built. Every year a fair is organized on Shivratri, Raksha Bandhan and the first Monday of Shravan month. A Dharamshala is located on the outskirts of a temple, which was donated by Dwarika Das Banjara. There are two large entrance gates on the eastern and southern sides of the temple, which were built by Hafiz Rahmat Khan.
