Shree Someshwar Mahadev Temple Someshwar, Uttarakhand
About 40 km from Almora district headquarters, This group of temples is built in Someshwar, a picturesque place situated on the left bank of Kosi river, at a distance of 12 km from here. Kausani, the birthplace of the famous Chhayavadi poet Sumitranandan Pant ji, is about 12 km. Is located at a distance. This group of temples was built around the 12th century AD. Apart from Shivalinga, idols of Uma Mahesh, Sheshshayi Vishnu, Durga, Brahma, Lakulish, Ganesha and other idols are kept in the sanctum sanctorum of the main temple. Apart from the main temple, two contemporary small temples are also present, Shivalinga is installed in one temple and Ganesha idol is installed in the other temple. From the point of view of iconography, all these idols appear to be from around 11th to 15th century AD.
