Shree Udyan Ganesh Mandir Mumbai
Shree Udyan Ganesh Mandir in Mumabai is considered to be a very famous temple of Lord Ganesh. It is situated at Dadar’s- Shivaji Park. Since it is located in an Udyan (park), it got the name Udyan Ganesh Mandir.
The architecture of this temple is amazing and attracts many tourists. People in Maharashtra are extremely devoted to Lord Ganesh situated in this temple. They believe that praising Lord Ganesh brings happiness and prosperity to their life.
Upon entering the temple, devotees will see a silver idol of the Bala Ganesha, with four hands, holding a conch, a laddu, an elephant tusk, and a mace, with the trunk curved to the right (Siddhivinayak). On either side of the idol stand Riddhi-Siddhi and Laksh-Labh. The construction of the temple features marble from Rajasthan and Gujarat, and the throne and dome inside the temple are adorned with 24-carat gold.
Initially, Shree Ganesh at this temple was underneath a banyan tree. Soon, this beautiful and radiant murti occupied the hearts of many devotees, specially because of its location with the sea as it’s backdrop. On the Magh Shuddha Chaturthi, Shake 1891 (Dated 09.02.1970) this Shree Ganesh came to be known as “SHREE UDYAN GANESH” which is the most apt name for it.
This beautiful temple with a small sanctum-sanctorum was built under the same banyan tree. During the construction of the temple, many hurdles were encountered, but after all the hardships and difficulties the temple of “Vighna Harta” materialized successfully. Today, this beautiful and holy temple is located under the same banyan tree. The surroundings of the temple including the adjoining area have been beautified and well maintained. The count of the devotees is ever increasing and the faith in this temple is growing multi fold.
Each year, “Shree Udyan Ganesh Janmotsav” is celebrated on a grand scale.
