Shri 1008 Chandraprabhu Digamber Jain Mandir, Pavagarh Siddh Kshetra, Pavagarh,Panchmahal,Gujarat
The 1008 Chandraprabhu Jain Temple on Pavagadh Hill is a significant Jain shrine dedicated to the eighth Tirthankara, Chandraprabhu. Built primarily between the 14th and 15th centuries in the Nagara style with intricate white stone carvings, it reflects Pavagadh’s ancient Jain heritage, dating back to the 3rd century BC under King Samprati. Despite damage from Sultan Mahmud Begada’s invasion in 1484, the temple was repaired in 1880, though later renovations altered some features. Located near the Mataji cliffs, it remains a key pilgrimage site within the UNESCO-listed complex, showcasing Jainism’s historical prominence at Pavagadh.
