Shri Balaji Maharaj Mandir also called as Chhote Balaji mandir is situated at Deulgaon Raja. At a distance of 90km from Aurangabad. 400 year old Balaji temple.
Deulgaon has an old Balaji Temple which is also popularly known as “Tirupati” of Maharashtra.This temple is founded by Raje Jagdeorao Jadhav in 1665.
Every year there is a local festival called ‘Shri Balaji Maharaj Yatra’ in the month of October.’Latha Mandapotsav’ is major attraction of the Yatra. 42 nos. of ‘Mandaps’are erected in front of Lord Balaji’s Temple with the help of 21 wooden pillars called ‘Lata’. These wooden pillars are made from Teak wood.Height of each pillar is 30 feet and diameter is 1.0 foot.
Balaji temple is very famous and it is among the popular religious places of Maharastra and more important is that it is in Deulgaon Raja. Balaji temple is famous for its own festival of “LALIT”(लळित). LALIT is the festival celebrated by all deulgaon rajakars. The big woods approximately of 30 feet 21 wooden trunks are arranged in line and have diameter of 1 feet. These trunks are worshiped by all devotees. That trunks are usually called as ‘laata'(लाटा).
The Sansthan handles the whole work and arrangement of mandir. It is called that the statue is found to Raje Jadhao. He proposed and created the temple. The area around the mandir is known as Baljai faras. The god balaji’s statue is kept in palakhi during the time of dashera.
