Dhundheshwar Mahadev gives freedom from planetary obstacles, after his darshan one gets the virtue of taking Kartik bath.

Among the 84 Mahadevs situated in Ujjain, there are three Mahadevs, whose darshan and worship removes the hindrances of planets and stars. Agasteshwar Mahadev, Dhundheshwar Mahadev, Guheshwar Mahadev are also considered Mahadev according to the constellation. The month of Kartik has originated from Kritika Nakshatra, that is why there is special significance of worshiping and having darshan of Dhundheshwar Mahadev in the month of Kartik. If a devotee takes bath in Shipra throughout the Kartik month and does not have darshan of Dhundheshwar Mahadev, then he does not get the virtue of Kartik bath.

Giving this information, the priest Pandit of Dhundeshwar Mahadev Temple, who holds the third place among the 84 Mahadevs, said that just by having darshan of Dhundeshwar Mahadev, one gets the virtuous results of bathing in the month of Kartik. Donating lamps in the temple has special significance on the full moon day of Kartik month, that is why a large number of devotees come to the temple to donate lamps.

The priest Pandit of the temple says that although the glory of Shri Dhundeshwar Mahadev is very unique, but especially by worshiping and having darshan of Dhundeshwar Mahadev, along with freedom from all sins, the lost reputation is also regained. It is also believed in the temple that if the Lord is worshiped with the wish to get back a lost item, then that item is obtained.

Right in front of Dutt Akhara at Ramghat on the banks of river Shipra, there is a very ancient temple of Shri Dhundheshwar Mahadev, which comes third among the 84 Mahadevs. The entrance of the temple is north facing and has the idol of Lord Ganesha above it. In the sanctum sanctorum of the temple, there is a one feet high Shivalinga which is adorned with snakes. The idols of Lord Ganesha and Mother Parvati are installed here. Shivalinga is installed in a brass water vessel. Nandi is seated in front of Shivalinga.
