Mother Gayatri is present in place of Parvati in Shiva temple, not even Nandi bull.

Mahendra Sharma, the serving priest of the temple, told that this temple is thousands of years old. Besides, this temple is also the only one of its kind. In this temple, not Parvati is present with Lord Shiva, but Mata Gayatri is present in the form of Shakti. You will not see this in any temple.

He also told that in this temple Gayatri Mata is seated on his right hand. There is no Nandi in front of Mahadev in this temple. Because of this the specialty and recognition of this temple increases considerably.

Shatrughan also did penance

The demon Lavanasura, who ruled Mathura, also performed penance at this place. For which later Lord Shri Ram’s brother Shatrughan also performed penance of Garteshwar Mahadev to defeat the demon in this temple and defeated Lavanasura.
