Shri Juna Katariya Shwetamber Jain Tirth, Katariya Juna,Kachchh,Gujarat
It is said that Munisuvrat Swami is mulnayak but 5 other idols were moved from a gupt surang to other village when there were attacks on this village and after many years, they were shifted back here. It includes pratima of Mahavir swami on the side of mulnayak.
Ot is also said that this pratima is very old and pujit by panch pandav during old days. There are 2 temples, 1 on the steps and other where everything (pillars interiors) os made of wood.
Older Jain temple is a Nav Graha Jain Temple where each tirthankar is assigned a grah. Eg. Aadinath for Guru Grah, Chandraprabhu Swami for Moon, etc. Hence, nine Tirthankars for nine grah. Its In a semi circle. Aadinath is like a moolnayak here.
The newer temple is dedicated to Munisuvrat Swami.
Wonderful place. The latest temple in the premises have fully decorated interior of exceptional wooden carving. It’s unique and worth to have view once. Inside the temple there is a Stambh (pillar) made of Crystal, which is a wonderful masterpiece of such an amazing art, combining latest technology with old ethos. Inside temple, there are some panels with colorful sculptures relating to panch Kalyanak of Mahavir Swami.
Novelty and unique feature is the wooden Navgraha(9 solar body) temple. No other Jain temple allows to click pics inside or use ur mobiles inside the temple. But one can click pics inside this wooden temple- as the vibrations inside this temple are trapped inside a Ghant (Gaint bell) hanging outside – design done at architecture level. One can easily hear and recognise Om when bell is rung.
History
