Shri Kamakhya Devi Mandir Varanasi

Kamakhya Devi Shaktipeeth Temple is located in Kamchha of Varanasi, famous by the name of Kamakshi Devi.

Kashi Khanda, Chapter 72, in another context describes Kamakhya as a superpower created by the goddess in her battle with Durgasur. All the places where these Yoginis stationed themselves are considered as Shaktipeeths. A person worshiping at these places receives divine energy. Kamakhya Devi Temple is located at B.21/123, Kamachha. This is a famous temple and nearby another temple “Batuk Bhairava Temple” is also a very famous temple. In fact, the name of the locality Kamachha is derived from the name of Kamakhya Devi. If a devotee is going towards Rath Yatra from Bhelupur then he has to take a left turn just before the multi-storey Kashi Raj Apartment to reach here. Since the temple is quite famous, most of the rickshaw pullers know the place.

The temple is open from 03.00 am to 12.00 noon. And from 04.00 PM to 10.00 PM, Aarti is at 05.30 AM and 07.30 AM. There is heavy crowd during Tuesdays, Fridays and Navratri days (both March–April and September–October).
