The Shivalaya of Baba Karpoori Nath is the oldest Shivalaya of the city area Begusarai. This temple of Karpuri Nath sees maximum crowd of devotees on the occasion of Monday and Mahashivratri. Due to lack of space in the temple premises, there is a very noisy atmosphere here on the occasion of Monday and Mahashivratri. On the occasion of Shivratri, Shiva’s procession is also taken out with great pomp by the committee of this temple. In which a crowd of thousands of devotees visit the city. This procession is the main center of attraction here. The temple was established by the local Ulav State on 18th March in the year 1802 AD. Since then, Baba Karpurnath’s puja, Jalabhishek and Shiva’s procession are being taken out continuously here. Due to the temple being located in the busiest locality of the city and having a small campus, there is a huge crowd of devotees here every Monday and on many other occasions including Shivratri.
