In ancient times, there used to be a king named Kaushik. He took care of his subjects and there were all the comforts and facilities in his kingdom. King Kaushik lived in human form throughout the day and took the form of a chicken at night. Due to this his queen Vishala always remained sad. Due to the king taking the form of a chicken, she could not enjoy sexual pleasure. One day the queen thought of dying due to grief and she approached sage Galav. Vishala narrated her grief to Rishi Galav and asked the reason for it.

Galav Rishi told that your husband was the son of King Vidurat in his previous life. Obsessed with sensual pleasures, he became a non-vegetarian and ate many poultry. Due to this, Tamrachud, the king of poultry, got angry and cursed him that he would suffer from tuberculosis. Due to the curse he started becoming emaciated. Prince Kaushik went to Sage Vamdev and asked the reason for his illness. Sage Vamdev told about Tamrachud.
And asked him the solution to get rid of the curse. Kaushik went to Tamrachud and made a request. Tamrachud said, you will remain healthy and rule but you will become invisible at night. When the queen asked Galav Rishi the solution to get rid of the curse, he told that the Bird Vagina Release Linga is situated near Jabaleshwar in the Mahakal forest, go there and worship it. The king and queen came to Mahakal forest and worshiped Shivalinga.When night fell, King Kaushik did not disappear and enjoyed sexual pleasure with the queen. It is believed that by seeing Shivalinga no one goes to ancestral hell.
