Prayagraj: Prayagraj is called the king of pilgrimages. There are many such monasteries and temples in Tirtharaj Prayag which have their own importance and recognition. One of these is Pandeshwar Mahadev Temple. It is believed that the Shivalinga established here was established by the Pandavas. Located at a distance of about 16 kilometers from the district, this temple is famous by the name of Padila Mahadev. Padila Mahadev is also known as Pandeshwar Nath Dham.
It is believed that the Pandavas stayed here for a few days during the Agyatavas and it was they who established the Shivalinga here at the behest of Lord Krishna. Which later became popular by the name of Pandeshwarnath Mahadev. This Shivalinga, established by the Pandavas in the Dwapar era, is also included in the Panchkosi Parikrama of Prayag and the Panchkosi Parikrama of Prayagraj is considered incomplete without Pandeshwarnath Dham. People believe that the wishes of all the devotees who come to the temple are definitely fulfilled. The fame of this temple is in many nearby districts. People from many districts including Pratapgarh, Sultanpur, Amethi, Jaunpur come to this temple for darshan and worship. During the month of Sawan, Kanwariyas come to see Mahadev with Ganga water, flag,belpatra, Dhatura etc. and offer water to him.
