Shri Raman Bihariji Mandir Mathura
Raman Reti is the sand on which Lord Krishna used to play in his childhood. More recently, about 200 years ago, the famous saint Swami Gyan Dasji performed rigorous penance for 12 years on Raman Reti. Pleased with his devotion, the Lord appeared before him and today you can see the Ramanbihariji temple at that place. Today devotees roll on the sand here and seek blessings of Lord Krishna.
This temple is situated close to Gokul. This is a sprawling temple complex and is a must visit for tourists particularly. This is the place where Lord Krishna spent his childhood with his friends, playing around in the playground and swimming in the pond inside the complex. There is a playground with good tree cover and it is believed that the dust here does not stick to one’s body even if he or she sleeps here. People get ecstatic and dance here recalling childhood days of Krishna. There is a nice forest like tree covered path, leading to a pond. The pond has cool water and separate place for bathing for males and females. Drinking water, toilet facilities available. Shoe stand, maintained by the asram, is available just outside the temple complex. This place is serene and even in summer days is comparatively cool because of the tree cover
