Shri Shani Mandir Kokilavan
The Kokilavan Dham is the place where the famous Shani Dev Temple is situated in Kosi Kalan near Mathura in Uttar Pradesh, India. This is a very ancient temple of Shani Dev and his guru Barkhandi baba. Devotees from all over India come here to do pooja here.

Kokilavan pilgrimage is located in Nandgaon of Mathura city. An ancient temple of Shani Dev is built here. It is believed that in Dwaparayuga, Shani Dev came to Nandgaon to have darshan of his adorable Lord Krishna as a child. Shani was stopped by Nand Baba, as he was afraid of his crooked vision.
Then to console the grieving Shani, Krishna sent a message that he should do penance in the forest near Nand village, where he would appear to give darshan. Then Shani did penance at this place.
After that Lord Krishna appeared to him in the form of a cuckoo. After that, by the order of Lord Shri Krishna, he started living in Kokilavan Dham.
Dedicated to Shanidev, this temple is located in the Nandgaon Barsana route from Mathura. There is a huge status of Shanidev at the entry point. There are many bhandaras available outside the temple. The temple complex also has a temple dedicated to Lord Krishna.
