Shri Shanmukha Subramanya Temple-Sajipanadu

Shri Shanmukha Subramanya Temple is located at Sajipanadu in Bantwal Temple.

is known as the land of Parashurama creation, and it has a rich cultural and traditional background.Shri Shanmukha Subramanya Temple” in Sajeepa is known as the powerhouse to fulfill the wishes of the devotees.

This surrounding area is a hub of various religious activities such as Pagnism, Devatharadhane, Bhootharadhane, and Nagaradhane.

History

The Nanda kings of Nandavara who ruled the village over 800 years ago was suffering from Harpies skin disease. They tried many medication to cure the disease but in spite of it they were unable to get relief from this disease. So the king of Nandas sent the Messenger throughout the village to find a Pandit. The village messenger beating his drum and invited many scholars to the king’s Palace who would relieve the people from the disease.

Hearing this one of the Brahmin from Kunjarugiri came forward to perform a medicine for the king of Nandavara. After performing the medicine he said to the king a Serpent will come and suck the toxin from the disease. If the Serpent dies then they should built three Subramanya Temple in the area under their rule and perform worship services. Likewise when the medication was done a Serpent came in and sucked the toxin from the disease and died in the place called Naganavalachill.

According to the Brahmin’s words the rulers of Nandavara built three Shanmukha Subramanya Temples in different places in their hometown. They established the presence of God and conducted worship rituals.( All these factors were found in the Tamboola questionaire conducted in the temple)

The consecration of Lord was settled when the venomous Serpent rescued the kings of Nandavara from the poisonous disease. So one of the Shrine manifestation of this temple is “Shri Shanmukha Subramanya Temple” in Sajeepa.

The temple is known as the powerhouse to fulfill the wishes of the devotees. If a devotee offers benison with the great devotion in the Shrine, then Visual impairment, Kuja Dosha, Naga Dosha and white spot were cured.

In the holy shrine Nagara Panchami, Navaratri Puja, Annual Shashti Fair are organized.
