Shri Shantinath Bhagwan Shwetamber Jain Mandir, Zinzuwada,Surendranagar,Gujarat
As you enter the village, you will find the beautiful shrine of the main deity, Lord Shantinath. The idol is carved from white stone. The sanctum sanctorum next to it houses other ancient idols, including those of Lord Parshvanath (dating back to 1203 AD) and Lord Mahavir Swami. The temple has been renovated. Jain homes remain in this village even today. Located in Patdi taluka, this village has seen numerous initiations. The most revered Bhakti Yogacharya Shri Yashovijaysuri Maharaja Sahib was born here. He received initiation at the age of 11 here in Jhinjhuwada.
This village is ancient. Its former names were Jhingpur and Jhanjhpur. It is said that Siddharaj Jaisingh was born in the forest of this village to a Rabari named Jhunjha, so Siddharaj named the village after that Rabari.
The king who renovated Shankheshwar Tirtha in the thirteenth century was from Jhinjhuwada.
This temple was originally three stories tall. Beautiful carvings adorn the temple. The mere sight of the Lord’s idol is captivating and provides immense peace to devotees. A Guru Mandir is also located nearby.
