Shri Vanod Tirtha: The Main Deity of Lord Shantinath
Vanod village, 15 km from Shankheshwar Tirtha in Gujarat, houses a 500-year-old Jain temple. The main deity of the temple is Lord Shantinath. The idol of Lord Shantinath is very beautiful, magnificent, and captivating. The idol of Lord Shantinath was consecrated by Acharya Shri Vijaysensurishvarji Maharaj Saheb, a disciple of Shri Hirvijaysuriji Maharaj Saheb, on Wednesday, Vaishakh Sud 6, Samvat 1662.
The statues on either side of Shri Shantinath, the original deity, are also beautiful, authentic, and attractive. Two statues, previously separate, were installed in the sanctum sanctorum in 1976, forming two independent niches. There are five five-metal statues. The inscriptions on them are from 1494 to 1585. The statue is dedicated to the Guru of Acharya Shri Sheelgunsurishvarji M.S. It is believed that Acharya Shri Sheelgunsurishvarji Maharaj Saheb raised Vanraj Chavda at this place.
In the adjacent building, ancient influencers Shri Manibhadraveer, Kalbhairav Dev, Ambika Devi and two ancient Gurus Pagliye have been installed. The throne of Acharyadev Shri Sheelgunsurishwarji Maharaj Saheb is also beautiful. For saints and sages, Shankheshwar is a pilgrimage center like Ahmedabad. This pilgrimage site is peaceful, impressive, and captivating.
