A wonderful centre for spirituality, peace, communal harmony, social get togethers, awesome Punjabi food and learning, the Sikh Temple is one of the oldest Sikh Gurdwara in Jawa. Started in mid 1950s, the Sikh Gurdwara has not only two well maintained, spacious, air-conditioned prayer halls but also well segmented, spacious and well maintained langar (community kitchen) hall where Buffet is laid every morning for the devout, needy and visitors. Quality of food in the Buffet is awesome and it invariably has a vegetables preparation, daal or pulses, chapati, rice, sweet dish, pickles and a couple of other dishes, all made at ultra modern kitchen of the temple. It also runs special devotional song and Gurbani recitation classes besides classes in Punjabi language. The prayer halls and langar hall are also used for social functions, including weddings, and also for holding special prayer meetings. All Sikh festivals are celebrated with traditional fervour and gaiety. No donations are solicited. Only offerings by Sikh, Punjabi and Sindhi families help finance and run this temple that holds meditation and spiritual assemblies every morning and evening.
