Not only do the devotees get the privilege of worshiping Bhole Baba in Nath Nagari, but here, beyond the Shri Alakhnath temple, they get the wonderful darshan of Lord Shri Ram. This proven temple of Lord Shri Ram is considered to be more than three hundred years old. This temple is ‘Shri Sitaram Ka Jharokha’ where the devotees get a combination of darshan and worship of Lord Shri Ram and Mother Sita along with the worship of Lord Jagannath, Bhole Shankar, Hanuman ji and Sankatmochan Hanuman.
The dome of the temple attracts
While moving ahead from Alakhnath temple, the high dome of the temple crosses the line on the left hand side near Chaudhary Talab gate and attracts the attention of the passersby. On reaching the middle of the bridge, when seen from the side of the dome, a dilapidated building attracts the attention of the passersby. This is Sitaram’s baradari built in Jharokha and the main court building built here. The view of the bridge is clearly visible even from the main court of the temple.
The main gate of the temple is at some distance.
The route to the temple has become a little longer after the construction of the bridge. The road leads to Karmachari Nagar from the gate at Chaudhary Talab railway crossing. Right here, at the beginning, there is a rough path on the left hand side, which meanders through nurseries and fields and opens into a large field, where a big gate welcomes people. This is the main gate of Shri Sitaram’s Jharokha temple.
There are idols of Ram and Sita in the sanctum sanctorum.
There are idols of Lord Shri Ram and Mother Sita in the sanctum sanctorum. The statue of Lord Jagannath is kept nearby. The place below where the temple of Lord Jagannath was, is now in ruins. The statues of Subhadra and Balaram no longer existed.
Baba Siyaram had built the temple
Mahant Umakant alias Umacharan Das of the temple says that there is no written history, but according to the elders, this temple is about three hundred years old. At that time, a prince named Champatrai gave all this land to Baba Bhagwan Das for the construction of the temple.
The view of the city is visible from Baradari
There are 12 windows in the Baradari of the temple. The special thing is that all are of different types. The view of the surrounding city can be seen from here. Footsteps of the saints who lived here are also made in the ground below.
There once lived golden eared fishes
Just in front of Baradari, there is a pond below, whose name is Ramsagar Tal. It is said that during the time of Baba Siyaram, the pond was full all the time and there were fishes with golden earrings in it.Mahant explains that this pond gets filled automatically when the Kila river flowing nearby is full, but as soon as the water level of the river decreases. This pond dries up.
