All people from the Indian community living in Munich might have already experienced that there is a lack of a traditional temple.

As you are already aware, we want to build a Siva Temple in Munich. The vision behind the conception of a Temple in Munich is to build a place of worship for the entire Indian community. The idea originated not even a few months ago and we are making day-by-day progress to make it a reality. In order to support and coordinate the efforts to build the temple, a separate legal Entity – Sivaalayam e.V. – is registered.

In a few days’ time, the official paper work is finished and we can start with building the temple – which is the core part of the initiative. Very few people have been involved / active until now – in order to execute the bureaucratic part of the process as quickly as possible. As we all intend that the temple stay for times behold as an integral part of the Indian community, it is decided to start the temple activities during the Dusserah festival period – mainly on the Vijaya Dasami, Sunday October 25. 2020.

A Social Project of this scale does not succeed without the UNITED/ combined efforts of all the individual members of the community. Although the Corona restrictions forbid us to “Shake” hands, we expect every one of the community to come together and JOIN HANDS in the united efforts to make this project a reality and a grand success. 

In this regard, I would like to request all of the members of the community to support the Temple Building activities in whatever form they can. Please contact the Temple Committee for further information. All support in all forms (monetary or voluntary) is welcome. Take part now in creating history for the forthcoming years and generations to have a communal place of worship for the Indian community in and around Munich.
