Someshwar Mahadev Mandir (26/84) Bilotipura, Ujjain, Madhya Pradesh
According to the ancient story, the moon became extinct due to the curse of Daksh Prajapati. With the extinction of the Moon, medicines began to disappear on Earth. On this the gods prayed to Brahma. On the orders of Brahma, the ocean was churned and a moon appeared from it. With the permission of Brahma, the moon started obeying the people on earth. The cursed Moon, on the orders of Lord Vishnu, worshiped the Shivalinga situated in the Mahakaal forest and received a boon from Lord Shiva and regained his body and kingdom. Due to worshiping the Moon, Shivalinga was named Someshwar Mahadev. It is believed that by worshiping here, a person becomes free from all stigma and attains salvation in the final moments.
