Someshwar Nath Mandir Areraj, Bihar

The temple is 30 KM from Motihari in East Champaran district bordering Nepal. According to Shiva Purana, King Soma built this 55 feet high temple about 2000 years ago. It is also believed that this Panchmukhi Linga of Mahadev is self-manifested. The famous Someshwar Nath Mahadev Temple is centuries old and attracts lakhs of pilgrims from other districts as well as Nepal on the occasion of Shravani Mela (during July–August). On the occasion of Mahashivratri, there is a rush of tourists here to worship.
