Sree Vasishteswara swamy 1st Kshadaranya Temple Veppur,Arcot,Vellore

This temple is situated in the southern bank of palar river also one of the seven shadaranya kshetram where Sage Vashistar worshipped lord Shiva in the form of linga.

A very old archaic temple. One of the six temples worshiped by the six sages. One of them, Vasishta, stayed here and worshiped the Lord here, so he is called Vasishteswarar.

Vashishtha is worshiping Shiva in the shrine of Shiva. Those who worship him worship Shiva. There are shrines of Sarabeswarar, Saptha Matar, Selva Vinayagar, Kashi Viswanathar, Agora Veerabhatrar, Kala Bhairavar. Arunakiriyar has sung in praise of Subramaniyar with Valli Deivanai in this temple.
