Story of 8 incarnations of Lord Shri Ganesh

1. Vakratunda
Vakratunda was incarnated to suppress the demon Matsarasura. Matsarasur was a devotee of Shiva and by worshiping Shiva he had received the boon that he would not fear anyone. Matsarasura started torturing the gods on the orders of Devguru Shukracharya. He also had two sons, Sundarpriya and Vishyapriya, both of whom were also very cruel. All the gods took refuge in Shiva.Shiva assured them that should they invoke Ganesha, Ganapati would come with Vakratunda avatar. The gods worshiped and Ganapati took the incarnation of Vakratunda. Lord Vakratunda killed both the sons of Matsarasura and also defeated Matsarasura. The same Matsarasur later became a devotee of Ganapati.

2. monodentate
Maharishi Chyavan created Mada with his spiritual power. He was called the son of Chyavan. Mada took initiation from Shukracharya, the guru of demons. Shukracharya made him adept in every kind of knowledge. After getting education he started opposing the gods. All the gods started getting harassed by him. Mada had become so powerful that he defeated even Lord Shiva. All the gods together worshiped Ganapati.Then Lord Ganesha appeared in a single-toothed form. He had four arms, one tusk, a big stomach and his head was like an elephant. He had a noose, a halberd and a blooming lotus in his hands. Ekadant granted fearlessness to the gods and defeated Madasura in the battle.

3. Sir
When Kartikeya killed Tarakasura, demon guru Shukracharya created a demon named Mohasur and raised him against the gods. The gods worshiped Ganesha to get freedom from Mohasur. Then Ganesha took Mahodar incarnation. Mahodar’s stomach was very big. When he reached Mohasur’s city riding on a mouse, Mohasur made Ganapati his favorite without fighting.

4. Gajanan

Once Dhanraj Kuber reached Mount Kailash to have darshan of Lord Shiva and Parvati. Seeing Parvati there, lustful greed awakened in Kuber’s mind. Due to that greed, Lobhasura was born. He went to Shukracharya and started worshiping Shiva on the orders of Shukracharya. Shiva became pleased with Lobhasura.He gave him the boon of being fearless. After this, Lobhasura captured all the worlds and Shiva himself had to abandon Kailash for him. Then Devguru advised all the gods to worship Ganesha. Ganesha appeared in the form of Gajanana and gave a boon to the gods that he would defeat Lobhasura. Ganesha sent a message to Lobhasura for war. On the advice of Shukracharya, Lobhasura accepted his defeat without fighting.

5. Lambda
During the churning of the ocean, when Lord Vishnu took the form of Mohini, Shiva became infatuated with him. His semen ejaculated, giving birth to a black monster. The name of this demon was Krodhasur. Krodhasura worshiped Surya and took the boon of conquering the universe from him. Due to this boon of Krodhasura, all the gods became afraid. He set out to fight.Then Ganapati took the form of Lambodar and stopped him. Explained to Krodhasura and made him realize that he can never be an invincible warrior in this world. Krodhasura stopped his victorious campaign and left everything and went to the underworld.

6. Grim
Lord Vishnu violated the chastity of his wife Vrinda for the destruction of Jalandhar. A demon was born from him, his name was Kamasur. By worshiping Shiva, Kamasura got the boon of conquering the three worlds. After this, he started torturing the gods like other demons. Then all the gods meditated on Lord Ganesha. Then Lord Ganapati incarnated in a formidable form. The Lord appeared in a formidable form sitting on a peacock. He defeated Kamasura by granting fearlessness to the gods.

7. Vighnaraj
Once Parvati laughed out loud while talking with her friends. From his laughter a huge man was born. Parvati named her Mama (Mamta). After meeting Mother Parvati, he went to the forest for penance. There he met Shambarasur. Shambarasura taught him many demonic powers. He asked mum to worship Ganesha. Mum pleased Ganapati and asked for the secret of the universe.

Shambar married him to his daughter Mohini. When Shukracharya heard about the penance of his mother, he honored him with the post of Daityaraj. Mamasur also started atrocities and captured all the gods and put them in prison. Then the gods worshiped Ganesha. Ganesha incarnated as Vighnaraja. He humiliated Mamasur and freed the gods.

8. Smoky
Once Lord Brahma appointed Suryadev as the lord of Karma kingdom. Surya became proud as soon as he became king. He once sneezed and from that sneeze a demon was born. His name was Aham. He went near Shukracharya and made him his guru. He became Ahantasura from ego. He established a kingdom of his own and obtained blessings by pleasing Lord Ganesha with penance.

He also spread a lot of atrocities and malpractices. Then Ganesha incarnated in the form of smoke. His complexion was like smoke. They were monstrous. He had a fierce noose in his hand from which a lot of flames came out. Dhumravarna defeated Ahantasura. Defeated him in the war and gave him his devotion.
