Story of Varaha Avatar

According to Hindu scriptures, Varaha Avatar is the third incarnation of Lord Vishnu who appeared on Tritiya of Shukla Paksha in Bhadrapada.

When Hiranyaksha and Hiranyakashipu were born as twins from Diti’s womb, the earth trembled. Both Hiranyaksha and Hiranyakshipu grew up as soon as they were born. And they start shaking the earth with their atrocities. Although both Hiranyaksha and Hiranyakashipu were strong, still they were not satisfied. He wanted to achieve invincibility and immortality in this world.
Both Hiranyaksha and Hiranyakshipu performed great penance to please Lord Brahma. Lord Brahma was pleased with his penance, after receiving the boon of invincibility and immortality from Lord Brahma, Hiranyaksha became defiant and self-willed. He started considering himself the best among the three worlds.
Hiranyaksha became proud and thought of conquering all three worlds. He reached Indraloka with a mace in his hand. When the gods got the news of his arrival, they got scared and fled from Indraloka. Within no time, Hiranyaksha’s authority was established over the entire Indraloka.When no one was found in Indraloka to fight the war, Hiranyaksha reached Vibhavari city, the capital of Varun. Varun said very calmly – You are a great warrior and a brave man. Where do I have the courage to fight you? There is no one in the three worlds except Lord Vishnu who can fight with you.So go to them only. Only they will quench your thirst for war.
Hearing Varun’s statement, Hiranyaksha went into the abyss under the sea in search of Lord Vishnu. After reaching the abyss he saw an astonishing sight. He saw that a boar was walking carrying the earth on his teeth. Hiranyaksha aimed at Varaha and said, You are definitely Lord Vishnu.Where are you taking the earth from the abyss? This earth is an object for the demons to consume. Keep it. You have deceived the demons many times for the welfare of the gods. You won’t be able to trick me today. Still Lord Vishnu remained calm. Not even an iota of anger arose in his mind. He continued moving forward in the form of Varaha carrying the earth on his teeth. Hiranyaksha went after Vishnu in the form of Lord Varaha. He came out of the abyss and established the earth above the ocean.Hiranyaksha was following him. He was piercing their hearts with his words and arrows. After establishing the earth, Lord Vishnu paid attention towards Hiranyaksha. Looking at Hiranyaksh he said, you are very strong. Strong people don’t say, they show by doing. You are just blabbering. I am standing in front of you. Why don’t you attack me? Go ahead, attack me.Electricity ran through Hiranyaksha’s veins. He attacked Lord Vishnu with a mace in his hand. There were no weapons in the hands of God. In the very next moment he snatched the mace from Hiranyaksh’s hand and threw it away. Hiranyaksha became furious with anger. He pounced towards Lord Vishnu with the trident in his hand.Lord Vishnu soon called upon Sudarshan, the Chakra came into his hands. He cut Hiranyaksha into pieces with his Chakra. Due to being killed by Lord Vishnu, Hiranyaksha went to Vaikuntha world.
