Where “Thanumalayan” comprises three parts: “Thanu” meaning “Shiva,” “Mal” representing “Vishnu,” and “Ayan” signifying “Brahma.” Therefore, “Thanumalayan” denotes the combined presence of these three deities.
This temple was completed by three kingdoms- The Cheras, Pandyas & The Cholas.
