Sri Veerabhadreshwara Temple is located at Singataluru in Mundargi Taluk of Gadag District-Karnataka.The temple is on the banks of holy river Tungabhadra. This powerful temple of Lord Veerabhadreshwara is located at the middle of the hill which is considered as the last hill in Kappatagudda range and the devotees have to climb around 200 steps to reach the temple.

Veerabhadreshwara Temple is dedicated to an avatar of Lord Shiva- Veerabhadra. According to mythology, Veerabhadra was created from the wrath of Lord Rudra after his wife Goddess Sati self-immolated herself during the great Yagna in the palace of her father King Daksha.

Veerabhadra, also called as Veerabhadra Swamy is believed to be Shiva himself in a ferocious form and is also held as a Shiva Gana, the commander of Shiva. Generally, a valiant hero is referred to as ‘Veera,’ while ‘Bhadra’ means a friend. Shiva is said to have taken this fearful form to destroy the fire sacrifice of Daksha Prajapati and quell his arrogance.He is also the principal deity of Veerashaiva movement and still worshiped by bhaktas especially in the Karnataka region of India.

This is one of the most visited temple in Karnataka on the occasion of Sankranti.On Sankranti festival day devotees come from all over Karnataka especially from Gadag, Haveri, Koppal, Bellary districts and take a holy dip in river Tungabhadra which is called as Punya Snana, take the Darshan of Lord Veerabhadreshwara and have their home made food which is called as Vana bhojana. Temple is recently renovated and it’s new infrastructure is really awesome. It is believed that Lord Veerabhadreshwara always want to see River that may be the reason, several times constructed compound wall fell down. Now the temple authorities have left the space so that river is visible from the temple.Every year on Panchami, 5th day of Yugadi Singataluru fair is celebrated, devotees throng to this temple to have the darshan of Lord Veerabhadreshwara.
