It is a place of religious as well as historical importance. The history of Raja Nagavanshi of Chhotanathpur, Ruxelvan kings of Sarjuja and Barvi kingdom is written here. It is spread over an area of approximately 10000 square meters. There are countless number of stone statues of Lord Vishnu, Surya, Lakshmi deities. Hundreds of idols of Shivalingas are present here and there. Some statues are still unidentified. Some people believe that he is Lord Buddha. The main temple of Lord Shiva, the Great Trishul is inside the land, the Sun Temple, Suryakund is the center of great attraction which dates back to the period of Lord Buddha.

There is another place in Jharkhand which is associated with Lord Parshuram. Tanginath Dham located in Jharkhand is situated amidst dense forests, about 75 kilometers away from Gumla city. It is also known as the penance place of Lord Parashuram. It is believed that even today the ax of Lord Parshuram is stuck in the ground.

The shape of the ax here resembles a trident and this is the reason why a large number of devotees come here to worship the axe. The surprising thing is that this ax buried in the ground never rusts. Sun, shade or rain under the open sky has no effect on this axe. The ancient temple of Tanginath Dham has been turned into ruins, but even today ancient Shivalingas can be seen at many places in this hill.

These sculptures are made by carving stones. The importance of this place increases significantly in the month of Sawan and people come here from far and wide.
