The saga of brave martyr Barbarik…!!
Chulkana is a village in Panipat district of Haryana. It is also called Chulkana Dham. This is the place where Lord Krishna had asked for the head of Ghatotkacha’s son Barbarik. The story is that when the three-armed barbaric was going towards the Kurukshetra battlefield, Lord Krishna disguised himself and stopped him at this very place.
Shri Krishna became worried when Barbarik said that he would fight only on behalf of the losing side. This was a very serious matter. In this way both Kauravas and Pandavas will be annihilated. Because one side will definitely lose and Barbarik will start fighting on that side. When the other side starts losing, Barbarik will switch sides and take sides. The result will be that a time will come when both sides will be wiped out.
Barbarik said that just one arrow was enough to destroy the entire world. To prove his point, Barbarik shot an arrow at the Peepal tree located there, which pierced all the leaves of the tree. Shri Krishna had pressed a leaf under his feet and the arrow started hovering over his feet to pierce it. On Barbarik’s warning, Shri Krishna removed his foot from the leaf and the arrow pierced that last leaf as well. Surprisingly, even today there is a hole in the leaves of that Peepal tree and anyone can go there and see it.
Shri Krishna asked for his head from Barbarik. The surprising thing is that even after his head was severed from his body, he kept talking to Shri Krishna and expressed his desire to see the Mahabharata war. Then Barbarik’s head was given the form of a tricopter by Shri Krishna and flown in the battlefield. There is also a possibility that the eye-witness account of the Mahabharata war narrated by Sanjay to Dhritarashtra was broadcast from the tricopter made from the head of the same Barbarika.
The description of Barbarik proves him to be superhuman. Barbarik’s abilities seem more like those of a supercomputer than a human. The word Barbaric is derived from barbar and in Sanskrit barbar means inhuman. , From this the English word barbarian has originated. Perhaps this is the reason why Barbarik is not mentioned anywhere in the entire Mahabharata because he was not a human but AI i.e. Artificial Intelligence.
In the year 1027 AD, some laborers were digging a well in village Khatu in Sikar district of present Rajasthan.
After digging about thirty feet, they found a metal box. The box was very well sealed and had Barbarik engraved on it in Sanskrit.
On opening the box, a human head made of shiny metal was found. The eyes of this head were exactly like human eyes and alert.
This head was immediately taken to the local king Roop Singh Chauhan. Raja Roop Singh employed many scholars to find out the mystery and origin of this head.
After searching through many ancient texts, scholars reached the story of Barbarik and Shri Krishna. After this, after full devotion and rituals, this head was built and established as a temple at the place where it was found.
Today this head is famous by the name of Shri Khatu Shyamji…
