The secret of offering oil to Shanidev

Saturn is considered to be the most troublesome among the gods but it is not so. Those who offer oil to Shani Dev even during Sadesati and Dhayya get his special blessings. There are many stories prevalent about why only oil is offered to Shanidev. According to a story, Shri Ram built a bridge with the help of monkeys to attack Lanka.To prevent the demons from harming him, the responsibility of security was entrusted to Pawanputra Hanuman. In the evening, when Hanumanji was engrossed in the worship of his God Shri Ram, then Shani appeared in front of Hanumanji in his ugly form and tried to break his meditation.

Shanidev said that he has heard that you are very strong, you should fight with me. Hanumanji said to Shani Dev, you are my respectable person, please leave now and do not disturb my meditation. When Shani Dev did not agree, Hanumanji wrapped him in his tail and started tightening it. After this, while circling the bridge, Shani started hitting the stone hard. Due to Hanumanji doing this, Shani’s body became completely bleeding.

After this, Shani apologized to Hanumanji and said that he has been punished for his actions and he will never trouble him. After this, Hanumanji gave him oil and after applying it, Shani’s pain ended. After this, offering oil to Shani started. Due to the grace of Hanumanji, the pain of Shani was calmed, due to this Shani keeps special blessings on the devotees of Hanumanji.

It is important to take some precautions while offering oil to Shani Dev. Before applying oil, one should see one’s face in it. By doing this one gets freedom from the evils of Saturn. Obstacles in money related work are removed and happiness and prosperity remain.

Shanidev is the planet responsible for skin, teeth, ears and knees. If Saturn is inauspicious in the horoscope then the person has to face problems related to these organs.
