Thrikandiyoor Maha Shiva Temple is one among the 108 Shivalayas installed by Parasurama!
There is a Parasurama Pratishtha in the Temple
This Temple under the Vettathu Raja was attacked during the Tippus invasion and the Shivalinga was also been attacked by them .The Same Shiva linga with sword marks are still worshipped as the Ashta mangalya preshna says this Shivalinga has not losed it’s chaitanya at all
This Temple is considered as one of the Temples which has overcome the attrocities done on Hinduism.
Today the Temple is been renovated and the Main Temple has regained it’s old charm by getting a makeover with Gold plated Shrikovil.
