TILBHANDESHWAR MAHADEV MANDIR LAMHETA JABALPUR MADHYA PRADESH
There is an ancient Tilbhandeshwar temple at Lamhetaghat near the world famous Dhuandhar. It is also mentioned in religious texts. It is described about this Swayambhu Shivalinga that in ancient times, sesame was cultivated on the land of this area. One day suddenly Shivalinga appeared in the middle of sesame fields. When the local people saw this Shivalinga, they started offering sesame seeds after worshiping it. Regional people say that since then it is called Tilbhandeshwar.
It is mentioned in Skandha Purana that a white point fell from the yogic body of Devadhidev Mahadev meditating on Amrakoot mountain and flowed into the virtuous form of Rudradeha-Narmada. When the river flowing from Amarkantak reached the Nilgiri Mountains of Jabalpur, it changed its original westward flow and turned northwards for one and a half kilometres. This is so that the flow of water takes place while having darshan of Lord Shiva present in the Tilbhandeshwar temple located in the same direction. The specialty of the Shivalinga of Tilbhandeshwar temple is that it increases every year.
