Time travel – a concept explained in Indian Hindu scriptures

Share

You all must have heard this word again and again. Time travel was repeatedly discussed by all the great minds in the last century like Einstein and Hawking. This is nothing new that you have seen. Conspiracy theories and stories of aliens, the concept of time travel has all been discussed in detail and there is obviously nothing new to learn or hear. People have claimed to have experienced time travel or time jump and you can find their testimonials on many sites on the web.But regarding Times Travel we will discuss something completely out of context. All imaginary but what if it is true.

Today we are equipped with modern technology and are much more organized and faster in completing any task. Due to technological advancement, we get leisure and enjoyment in daily life. Now we are thinking of developing a machinery or technology that can one day make us travel forward or backward in time. However, there are many speculations that such technology already exists and aliens from other planets have helped us create such time machines and we are also using them in a strange way to change the future. But these are just theories and there is no concrete evidence yet.

What if I say that such technology existed thousands of years ago? What if I say that there is evidence in Hindu scriptures and texts that humans were capable of time travel? Yes, perhaps you will not believe it but this may also be true to some extent.

The story of King Kakudmi and his daughter is very famous. Kakudmi was a king in Satyayuga. (Sat Yuga, Treta Yuga, Dwapar Yuga and Kal Yuga – four yugas or four eras are defined and described in Hinduism. All four together are called Chatur Yuga). According to this, now we are living in Kaliyuga. In Satyayuga people had mystical powers. They were much more skilled than humans are today. They were far more physically powerful than they are now, and had higher levels of intelligence and IQ. Overall, it evolved mysteriously even for interstellar travel.Yeah, right, interstellar travel. Swarga loka (the place above the clouds), Patala loka (the place under the ground), and Bhu loka (the earth), are three places famous by the people of that era. People at that time had the ability to travel to any of these three places. Now we think that these are all legends because we do not have the powers to travel to such places ourselves and at the same time, we no longer believe that these places exist. In short, if we don’t understand something or don’t understand something, we either fake it or make it unspeakable.

Coming back to the story of Raja Kakudmi. He had a playful daughter Revati, for whose marriage he could not find any suitable groom. She believed that no man was worthy of becoming her husband. Therefore, he decided to travel to Brahma Loka to meet Lord Brahma.(Shiva, Vishnu and Brahma – the trinity or trinity of life in Hinduism. Shiva is the destroyer; Brahma is the creator of the universe and Vishnu is the preserver. The three together create, preserve and destroy to recreate the universe and drive the cycle of life. work for.Churning.) Once he reaches Brahma Loka which was far away from Earth, it can be concluded as interstellar travel. When King Kakudmi reached his place, Lord Brahma was resting, so he waited for some time.

Later he finally got a chance to meet Lord Brahma. The king told him that he was not able to choose a groom for his daughter. He has selected some boys but he is not able to decide whom to choose. He sought help from Lord Brahma in choosing a suitable husband for his daughter.Lord Brahma laughed and asked him do you know how much time has passed on earth since he came to Brahma Loka.He told the king that the boys whom he had selected to marry his daughter
The Chosen One is no longer alive nor is anyone alive whom he knew from that time because 27 Chatur Yugas (thousands and thousands of years) have passed. (1 day in Brahma loka is equal to 4.32 billion earth years – Sahasra Yuga Aharyaad Bhramonavida).

He told the king that your kingdom and all its treasure has been swept away by time. When they returned to Earth, they saw that mankind had become less mysterious and the landscape had changed significantly. Subsequently, Lord Brahma, on the recommendation of Lord Vishnu, asked him to marry his daughter Revati to Balram, brother of Lord Krishna, an incarnation of Vishnu. From this we can first conclude that Lord Brahma lives in a place where gravity and time have no effect. Secondly, we can conclude that the king and his daughter traveled ahead in time to meet Lord Brahma. And thirdly, they traveled interstellar because it took such a long time to reach such a place.

There are countless examples of time travel (like Draupadi Chir Haran episode where Lord Krishna saved her from being stripped naked), interstellar travel, use of nuclear bomb (known as Bharmastra) in our Hindu Vedas, scriptures and many more. Are. We have still not been able to recognize all this important evidence lying before our eyes. We need to embrace our rich cultural heritage.

time travel in mahabharata

Time travel in Mahabharata:
Did time travel really exist in the past? In the Indus culture possibly 6000 years ago? Although time travel is not a recent concept but if we look at the past then we can get an idea of what time travel is and what is its possibility in the future. All ancient civilizations have entertained the idea of time travel and multiple universes.Time passed at different speeds in each of these universes. Indus culture dates back to the Mahabharata period and possibly even earlier.

The idea of a time machine was very similar to today’s. In that era people did not need any machines; They could travel with their siddhis. Indus Valley Civilization can be taken into account in this. Be it Geeta or Bible, all the holy texts talk about time travel. Jesus Christ says in the Bible, “For to you a thousand years are as yesterday which is gone, as a watch of the night.

Revati’s story

During the later Vedic era i.e. Satyayuga, there was a king named Kakudmi who was the ruler of the underwater kingdom (Kushasthali). It was a very prosperous kingdom but the king did not have any son so he was looking for a suitable groom for his daughter Revathi who could take over the kingdom after him.But she did not find any suitable life partner for her, so she thought of approaching Lord Brahma, the creator, and seeking his help. He traveled to Brahmaloka with Revati.

Lord Brahma was busy in musical performance by his own created Gandharvas. The king waited patiently for the performance to end. After the performance he approached Lord Brahma and said, “O Brahma: To whom should I marry this girl?I have come to you to ask on this very subject, I have searched for many princes and have also seen many of them and none of them are to my liking and hence my mind is not at peace.” Lord Brahma on his foolishness. He laughed and said, “O king: all the princes whom you thought would become your daughter’s grooms are dead; their sons, grandsons and their friends are also dead.” Brahma then explained to him that time moves differently at different levels of existence.

While he was waiting in Brahmaloka, 27 Chatur Yogas had passed on earth. All the king’s friends, his family, treasure, his army, everything had disappeared when he was in Brahmaloka. Both the king and the daughter were surprised and astonished. They were saddened by their loss but Lord Brahma consoled them and said that Krishna’s brother Balram was perfect for Revati. They came to earth and reached Balarama, who married Revati, but due to her huge size Balarama had to use his plow to reduce her to size. King Kukudami found that the species had evolved and were becoming separated from nature, they had weakened their intelligence and so the king went back to Brahmaloka as he had no work here.

This is an indication that humans are becoming more and more dependent on machines, due to which their thinking ability is being affected. They are trying to find an easy solution for everyone by sacrificing their spiritual and intellectual abilities.

Arjun’s story

Arjun was the third Pandava brother. Legend has it that once he went on a trip to heaven for some work and when he came back all his friends had grown old while he remained the same. This proves that the wheel of time or ‘Kaal Chakra’ moves differently depending on the place of existence. Arjuna traveled to different places and times where time passed slowly.

story of king manu

King Manu was a very prosperous and dedicated king. He was a great devotee of Lord Vishnu. He ruled during the Steya era. One day when he was roaming in the city, he came to know that evils have spread in the society and people are also asking for money in the name of God. This troubled him greatly and he decided to leave his kingdom and find a way to guide humanity. He started living in the forest with his wife in search of the path to enlightenment. One day he met a small talking fish who was asking for his help. To save him, King Manu picked him up and put him in a pitcher of water. But they were extremely surprised that its size started increasing and it became so big
That it needed the sea for itself.King Manu tried to take it to the sea but he faced a lot of troubles; The villagers, who wanted to eat the fish, even beat him up. Ultimately he could save it.

He took the fish to the sea and Lord Vishnu appeared before him in Matsya avatar. He was very pleased with Manu and ordered him to build a boat in which he could lead mankind towards knowledge. All Manu’s relatives and friends died.Lord Vishnu took Manu, his wife and animals on the boat. Lord Shiva, the destroyer, destroyed the earth, but these were saved to continue life on earth. Thus King Manu was a time traveler who moved from one place to another and continued life on earth. He saw the end of Staya Yuga and the beginning of Treta Yuga. His wife and animals on the boat.

Lord Shiva, the destroyer, destroyed the earth, but these were saved to continue life on earth. Thus King Manu was a time traveler who moved from one place to another and continued life on earth. He saw the end of Staya Yuga and the beginning of Treta Yuga.

basic explanation of time

⚘️When Vishnu is sleeping, Lord Brahma appears in the form of a lotus from his navel. It symbolizes the origin of creation. Brahma is the creator of this universe in which we all live. We can also take Brahma as the universe and Vedic texts often refer to this universe as Brahmanda. It refers to the universe created from the Big Bang which is described as a lotus blooming from the navel of Vishnu. According to the Puranas, this universe is temporary in which Brahma lives for a hundred Brahma years and then it dissolves and a new universe is born.
Measurement of time in Vedas:

In the Vedas, one Vedha i.e. 100 errors is equal to approximately 30 ms. There are many calculations that define ‘period’. Fifteen days equals one side. Popularly said the brighter lunar cycle is the day for the Pitru or dead ancestors and the darker lunar cycle is their night. Muhurta is a Vedic unit that measures time. There are 30 Muhurtas in 24 hours of day and night. Each period is of 48 minutes which is further divided into 30 arts. The word “Muhu” is used in Brahmana and Rigveda to define Muhurta. It means a moment that happens every day. There are seven Muhurtas named Swati, Vishakha, Anuradha, Jyestha, Magha, Purva, Phalguni, Uttara Phalguni. They are ruled by 7 constellations. Two Muhurtas are dedicated to Brahma i.e. the Creator himself. These are called Brahma Muhurta. According to legends, one human year is equal to one day in heaven, on the basis that 15 January-15 July, when the Sun is inclined towards the north-east, is considered the day of the gods and the remaining 6 months, when the Sun It is believed that it is inclined towards the south. -East is called their night. According to these calculations, Kaliyuga is 432,000 human years long. The cycle of 4 Yugas is called a Mahayuga.

One year and one day of Brahma

Each year of Brahma has 360 days and we are in our current 51st year of Brahma. According to the Vedas, Brahma creates during the day and rests at night. During this time the entire creation merges back into Him. Hence our life span is only one day of Brahma. If we go by calculation, each day or Kalpa is equal to 14 Manvantaras. Now we are in the White Varaha Kalpa and Vaivaswat Manvantara. On the basis of these calculations the age of the Yugas is calculated. According to this, 50 years of Brahma have passed and we are in his 51st year. According to all these calculations our Earth is approximately 155 billion years old. Even modern science has found out the same number and if we stop using gadgets and use the neurons of our brain then actually human brain is very helpful.

Indus Valley Civilization

Therefore, if we look at the most ancient civilization, one name comes to the fore and that is Indus Valley Civilization. Now talking about the concept of time travel, we all are familiar with the growing fear that paralyzed mankind with the destruction of the Earth in 2012.Well this concept came about because the people of the world’s first civilization could only make calendars. Till 2012. However, if we analyze it more closely, the Indus Valley was probably 8000 years old. So it is quite interesting to know how they knew what would happen after 8000 years. This brings up the issue of time travel. Possibly he traveled through time mentally or physically into the future and scientists argue a lot on this matter.

Science and Mythology

The most interesting thing in all this is the similarity between the principles of science and mythology. Even two thousand five hundred years ago, the scene was exactly the same as it is today. In Albert Einstein’s theory of relativity time is relative to the observer’s reference frame – it depends on the observer’s speed and the strength of gravity. We could argue the point that time on Earth moves slower than in space because gravity slows the passage of time. The same view has been put forward by Einstein that time is relative to the observer’s frame of reference. Brahma told the king and Revati that while they were waiting in Brahmaloka, twenty-seven Chatur Yogas had passed on earth. Even two thousand and five hundred years before Einstein’s birth, the same theory existed that there are different time cycles at different places. So we can well consider the progress of science during that era.

Hindu philosophy is quite familiar with the concept that time is relative and many passages in the Vedic texts consistently point to the gods’ cosmic time that operates independently of the Earth. One Chatur-yuga on Earth is equal to 4,320,000 human years. The question arises whether the king and his daughter were unwitting time travelers as millennia of time passed on Earth in a matter of minutes before Brahma. Despite being theoretical, Einstein’s theory has flaws.

Space-time where negative energy brings space and time together into the mouth of a tunnel that emerges into a completely different space and universe. Although fictional, they are frequently used as time travel objects in science-fiction films. For example, the film Time Bandits (1998) showed locations on celestial maps.It looks almost like an Einstein-Rosen bridge from top to bottom. Today time is seen as an arrow moving in a particular direction with a beginning, middle and end. But what’s interesting is what different cultures have about time and time travel. Here we are specifically talking about Mahabharata, but during the era of Mahabharata these siddhis were attained by saints who could time travel. Siddhi means the state of perfection. In Hindu mythology it is a spiritually related ability. All the monks and saints who had attained these siddhis or supernatural powers could travel through space and time.We have mention of many such great sages like Valmiki, Vishwamitra, Durbasa and many others. He traveled to different places and different dimensions with the power of these Siddhis. Siddhis can also be referred to yoga and Lord Shiva is often called Mahayogi. A very remarkable thing in this is that Mount Kailash (the abode of Lord Shiva) is on the surface of the earth which is in Tibet, but legends say that the ‘Kaal-Chakra’ moves differently in Kailash.Similarly we can relate to the fact that the sages who performed ‘tapasya’ to please God, did time-travelling. Despite his age, his age and youth remained intact.

Geeta

Talking about Geeta, it is the holy scripture of Hindu religion and it is the eternal knowledge given by Lord Krishna to Arjuna. It is told in the Gita that in Kaliyuga the evils will reach their peak and the Ganga will dry up. Recent findings show that the mouth of Gomukh (from where the Ganga flows) is gradually becoming narrower. So Krishna knew what was going to happen in future. Although he is considered an incarnation of Vishnu, he was still in human form.Hence he was a time-traveller who introduced us to the concept of ‘Trikaldarshi’ named Brahma, Vishnu and Mahesh. Finally quoting Lord Krishna, “There is no time when I did not exist, nor will you. Nor will there be any future when we will not exist.”.
