There are many projects of Maniramdas’s cantonment, one of them is Valmiki Ramayana Bhavan which reminds of the great contribution of Adi Kavi. This divinely grand building is not only a symbol of the spiritual grandeur of Ayodhya but is also a center of faith. All 24 thousand verses of Valmiki’s Ramayana are inscribed on the inner surface of the auditorium covered with white marble. This building is based on about a dozen pillars. Here, Lord Ram’s sons Luv and Kush are present in the sanctum sanctorum and along with them, a grand statue of the great poet and sage Valmiki is installed.
Mahant Kamalnayan Das, the successor of Maniramdas’s cantonment, says that the construction of Ramayana Bhawan started in 1965 with the inspiration of Mahant Nritya Gopal Das, President of Pujya Gurudev Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust. This grand building was completed in about ten years. He says that a large number of projects have been established by Gurudev at many places in Ramnagari, but for almost five decades, Valmiki Ramayana Bhavan is not only a unique example of architecture but all the 24 thousand verses of Ramayana are inscribed here, which attracts the devotees and devotees. Sant Anand Shastri, a disciple of Mahant Kamalnayan Das, the successor of Maniramdas’s cantonment, says that thousands of people come to visit this temple every day. The number of devotees has reduced during the Corona period, otherwise there used to be a crowd of thousands of devotees here every day. Here, the verses of Ramayana inscribed on the marble walls attract the devotees, while the devotees having knowledge of Sanskrit, after reading each verse, also try to understand its meaning from the sages and saints of the temple. They say that during fairs, lakhs of devotees come to visit this temple every day, it becomes difficult to control the crowd.
