Vasudev Temple Amroha

The history of the ancient Srivasudev temple of the city is five thousand years old. The Vasudeva temple has been witness to the unknown exile of the Pandavas. In the Mahabharata  period,

Lord Krishna stayed in the temple with the Pandavas. He had rested the night except for Kurukshetra. After this, stayed here for two nights and one day. Lord Krishna prepared the Shivling with his hands and worshiped it. His handmade Shivling is present in the temple complex today. After his arrival, the temple was named Srivasudev Tirtha. The tall trees are evidence of the arrival of Lord Krishna. Srivasudev Tirtha Temple is more recognized. Thousands of kanwadis of the region offer kanvad and water here. There is a huge temple of Shri Baba Bateshwar Nathji and Meera Baba, Vasudev Sarovar, Tulsi Uran. Which attracts devotees more. Here all the wishes of the devotees have fulfilled.

Shivaswaroop Tandon alias Bablu Tandon, president of Srivasudev Tirtha Mandir Samiti, said that the city of Amroha was inhabited in 3000 BCE by King Amarchaud of Indraprastha Delhi. After this Bateshwar Pagoda was established on the banks of Srivasudev Sarovar. During this time Peepal and Banyan clung to each other. During the Mahabharata period, Lord Krishna went on a trip to Kurukshetra with the Pandavas. During this time he took a night rest in the temple with the Pandavas. Lord Krishna took a bath in the lake in the morning. After which Sarovar became famous as Srivasudev Sarovar. On the south bank of the lake, Lord Krishna prepared the Shivling with his own hands and worshiped Lord Shankar. This Shivling is still present today. Statues of Goddesses and Gods Radha Krishna, Rama Sita, Shiva Parvati, Durga, Hanumanji, etc. are located on the western bank of the lake. The Kadam tree is still present near the huge idol of Hanumanji. An idol of Lord Shiva is installed on a large platform in the middle of the lake. The lake has two banks to reach the temple. Under an old huge tree is the temple of the unique Krishna devotee poetess Mirabai. There is an ancient temple of Kali Devi at par in the court of Meerabai. Thousands of years old peepal, banyan, and Pilkhan trees stand on its banks. There are stairs to descend down to the lake.

In this lake, ducks move around day and night. Srivasudev Tirtha Mandir is more recognized, its leadership keeps the flow of devotees on festivals. In the month of Shravan and Phalgun, devotees offer kavand and water to the city and rural areas.
