Why are Shri Jagannath ji’s eyes big :–

At its core is a wonderful saga revealing the deep love of God.

Once in Dwarka, Rukmani and other queens prayed to Mother Rohini that they wanted to hear the childhood love affairs of Shri Krishna and the Gopis.

At first mother Rohini refused to narrate the intimate activities of her son.

But on the repeated requests of the queens, the mother agreed and made Subhadra ji stand guard outside the palace and closed the door of the palace from inside so that no unauthorized person could hear those highly confidential episodes of pure love.

The stories continued inside for a long time and Subhadra ji stood alert outside.

Meanwhile, after completing the work of the royal court of Dwarka, Shri Krishna and Balram ji reached there.

He wanted to go inside the palace but Subhadra ji did not allow him to enter inside by telling the permission of Mother Rohini.

Both of them also sat outside near Subhadra ji and started waiting for the doors of the palace to open.

Out of curiosity, Shri Krishna started listening attentively to the conversations going on inside.

When Mother Rohini narrated the soulful stories of the Gopis’ selfless love to the queens of Dwarka, Lord Krishna was extremely thrilled to hear them.

He remembered how the Gopis used to sacrifice their biggest happiness just to give a little happiness to their beloved and beloved (Radha-Krishna).

Somehow the Gopis did not even care about the public shame for my love, nor did they care about hell due to the fear of the Vedas and scriptures.

After listening to the Gopis’ talk about the divine feelings of supreme love, Shri Krishna started getting compressed in his emotions.

It was as if all the pastimes of sweet feelings had come true and started roaming in front of him.

Hearing the words of ultimate sacrifice of the Gopis, his eyes kept widening with a sweet emotion of surprise.

And finally Shri Krishna entered the supreme state of greatness.

His entire body had shrunk, the rest of his body parts became loose and smaller, but his face kept glowing and his eyes kept getting dilated.

When Shri Dau ji saw the unpredictable condition of Shri Krishna, seeing such a deep attachment to God in the memories of his childhood friends, he also went from a state of ecstasy to greatness.

As his thoughts became one with God, his physical condition also became like that of Shri Krishna.

When Subhadra ji, lost in her own thoughts, spontaneously saw her two brothers in an indescribable state of supreme love, Subhadra ji also started getting engrossed in the thought of their devotee, affection and love and within no time she too became like that.

His physical condition also became like that of the two brothers.
Then Shri Narad ji reached there due to inspiration from God.

After carefully observing and understanding the entire situation inside and outside the palace, Narad ji became overwhelmed with love for Shri Krishna and started praising God with tearful eyes.

When Shri Narad ji saw that just by thinking about the pure selfless love of the Gopis, Shri Krishna, Balram and Subhadra were in a unique, indescribable state of great emotion.

So they too fell madly in love with God.
While praising in various ways, with great efforts Narad ji tried to bring God back to his normal form.
And knowing that God was comfortable, devotee Vatsal Narad ji started praying to God with his tearful eyes: –

“O Shri Krishna! I have seen your very special form with eyes wide open, immersed in great joy, such a form that even the most pious souls and your devotees would never have seen in the history of the world.

Now please do such a favor so that in the coming Kaliyuga, those sinful souls will be able to see this Shri Vigraha transformed in your supreme love and what kind of exclusive devotion the Gopis in the form of supreme love will have towards you and the Gopis towards you. It was pure emotion,
By thinking about this, everyone can move forward on the path of selfless devotion, do their welfare and become eligible to receive your divine love.

God greatly praised Narad ji’s kindness towards the welfare of living beings and while giving him a boon, said that
“Narad ji! In Kaliyuga, I will be known as Lord Jagannath and my specially blessed devotees will install the idol of this Mahabhava form of all three of us in Puri Dham of Utkal area.

In Kaliyuga, I will always reside in Jagannath Puri with Balram and Subhadra in the great state of my supreme love.”
