Why did Hanuman marry Suvarchala?
The temple of Hanumanji and his wife Suvarchala is in Khammam district of Telangana. It is an ancient temple. The statue of Hanumanji and his wife Suvarchala is present here. The belief here is that whoever visits Hanumanji and his wife, all the problems in the married life of those devotees go away and love remains between the husband and wife.
It is mentioned in Parashar Samhita that Hanumanji is not unmarried but married. He is married to Suvarchala, daughter of Suryadev. According to the code, Hanumanji had made Sun God his guru. Sun God had 9 divine knowledge. Bajrang Bali wanted to acquire the knowledge of all these sciences. Surya Dev gave the knowledge of 5 out of these 9 Vidyas to Hanumanji, but for the remaining 4 Vidyas, a crisis arose before Surya.
The knowledge of the remaining 4 divine sciences could be given only to those disciples who were married. Hanumanji was a child celibate, due to which Sun God was unable to give him the knowledge of the remaining four sciences. To solve this problem, Surya Dev asked Hanumanji to marry him. At first Hanumanji did not agree to the marriage, but he had to gain knowledge of the remaining 4 Vidyas. For this reason, ultimately Hanumanji said yes to the marriage.
When Hanumanji agreed for marriage, a search was made for a suitable girl and this search ended on Suvarchala, the daughter of Sun God. Sun God told Hanumanji that Suvarchala is extremely ascetic and brilliant and only you can bear her brilliance. After marriage with Suvarchala, you will become capable of acquiring the knowledge of the remaining 4 divine sciences.Surya Dev also told that even after marriage with Suvarchala, you will always remain a child celibate, because after marriage Suvarchala will again become engrossed in penance. After knowing all these things, Sun God got Hanumanji and Suvarchala married. After marriage, Suvarchala got absorbed in penance and also acquired the knowledge of remaining 4 Vidyas from her Guru Surya Dev from Hanumanji. Thus, even after marriage, Hanumanji remains celibate.
