Share

Lord Shiva wears ashes on his body. This ash is made in many ways, but it is said that especially the ashes of a dead body are offered during Mahakaal. However, at present the ashes of dead bodies are not used. Let us know the secrets of Shiva’s Bhasma and Bhasmarti.

1. When Mother Sati burnt herself to death by jumping into the yagya of her father Daksh due to the insult of her husband Shiva, Lord Shiva was deeply hurt by this incident. After killing King Daksh, he took out the dead body of his wife Sati from the burning fire and he became angry, sad and restless and started roaming around the earth babbling. Wherever the mother’s body parts fell, Shaktipeeths were created there. Due to his sorrow, the creation was in danger due to which Lord Vishnu converted his body into ashes with his illusion. Still, Shiva’s delirium and sorrow did not go away, so Shiva rubbed the ashes on his body as a sign of his love. It is said that this is why Lord Shiva wears ashes, but there are many other reasons for this.

2. The final form of any substance is ashes. Whoever you burn, it will remain the same as ashes. Even if you burn the soil, it will remain in the form of ashes. The final form of all is ashes. Ashes also indicate that the universe is perishable. By wearing ashes, Lord Shiva wants to tell everyone that this is the ultimate truth of this body.

3. Naga Sanyasi, one of the ascetics of Hindu religion, wears Bhabhuta on his entire body. Even among Nagas, only Digambara Sadhus apply Bhasmi or Bhabhut on their body. This Bhasmi or Bhabhuta is their clothing and adornment. This spirit protects them from many calamities. It is said that taking bath with ashes has many miraculous benefits. It is said in Navnath sect that Ultanta Bibhut Paltanta Kaya. That is, it makes the physical body pure and radiant. The rising earth became clear. That is, Bhaghoot purifies and purifies the mind by removing its impurities.

4. Naga Baba either purifies the ashes of a dead body and applies them on the body or applies the ashes of the havan performed by him on the body or this ash is dhuni. Many ascetics and Naga Sadhus apply bhasma all over their body. It is said that this ash not only protects their body from germs but also provides relief from cold and heat by covering all the hair follicles. Due to covering of hair follicles, the heat of the body is not able to come out, due to this one does not feel cold and the moisture of the body does not come out in summer. This protects from heat. 4. Mosquitoes, bedbugs etc. also stay away from the body covered with ashes. Naga Sadhus apply Bhabhut all over their body and remain naked.

5. Many times you must have heard that a Baba cured a patient by feeding him ghost or people got miraculously cured by eating ghost of a temple, ashram etc. at a certain place. Actually, many types of ashes have been mentioned in Ayurveda. There are many types of ashes like herbs or gold, silver, conch, diamond, Muktasukti Godanti, mica etc. Eating the said ashes is beneficial. Bhabhut made from the ingredients of Yagya or Havan is also considered the destroyer of many types of diseases, but before eating such Bhabhut, it is important to know whether it is from a reliable place or not.

Applying Vibhuti on the forehead destroys the negative energy within you and activates the Agya Chakra. This provides mental peace and purifies thoughts. Applying it around the neck awakens the Vishuddha Chakra. By applying it in the middle of the chest, Anahata Chakra is awakened. Applying Bhabhuti on the above points awakens the conscience.

Secrets of Bhasma Aarti

1. There are 6 aarti of Mahakaal, in which Bhasma Aarti is considered to be the most special. Bhasma Aarti takes place here at 4 am in the morning. Bhasma Aarti is performed every morning at the place of Mahakaal, the Kaal of Kaal. The specialty of this Aarti is that Lord Mahakal is adorned with the ashes of a fresh dead body. To attend this Aarti, booking is done in advance.

2. First of all, Bhasma Aarti, then in the second Aarti, Lord Shiva is offered in the form of a hat. In the third aarti, Shivalinga is given the form of Hanumanji. Sheshnag incarnation of Lord Shiva is seen in the fourth aarti. In the fifth aarti, Lord Shiva is given the form of a groom and the sixth aarti is Shayan Aarti. In this Shiva is in his own form.

3. It is necessary for women to wear saree in this Aarti. At the time when ashes are offered to Shivalinga, women are asked to wear a veil. It is believed that at that time Lord Shiva is in formless form and women cannot see this form. Men also have to wear only dhoti to watch this aarti. That too should be clean and cotton. Only men can see this Aarti and only the priests here have the right to perform it.

4. According to ancient beliefs, there was terror in Avantika due to a demon named Dushan. On the prayers of the townspeople, Lord Shiva burnt her to ashes and adorned himself with her ashes. Thereafter, on the request of the villagers, Lord Shiva settled there in the form of Mahakal. For this reason, this temple was named Mahakaleshwar and Aarti started being performed with the ashes of Shivalinga.

5. It is also said that here Lord Shiva is adorned with the first pyre of the morning burnt in the crematorium. People register in the temple in advance for this ashes and after death, Lord Shiva is adorned with their ashes.

6. However, it is also said that there are three types of ashes called Shrauta, Smarta and Laukik. If the Yagya is performed using the method of Shruti, that ash is called Shrauta, if the Yagya is performed using the method of Smriti, it is Smarta Bhasma and if the ash is prepared by burning a pot, then it is called worldly ash. The ashes of Virja Havan are considered the best. Peepal, Pakhar, Rasala, Belpatra, banana and cow dung are burnt in the Havan Kund. The ash of this burnt material is filtered through a cloth and laddu is made from it in raw milk. It is heated in fire seven times and then extinguished with raw milk. Bhasmi prepared in this way is applied from time to time. This ash is the clothing of Naga Sadhus. Aarti is also performed with similar ashes.
