Why is Brahmaji not worshiped like other gods?
Brahma is the god of creation according to Sanatan Dharma. In Hindu philosophy, there are three main gods in which Brahma is the creator of the universe, Vishnu is the preserver and Mahesh is the destroyer. In the Puranas written by Vyas, Brahma has been described as having four faces, which look in four directions. Brahma is also said to be Swayambhu (self-born) and the creator of the four Vedas. According to Hindu belief, every Veda came from one mouth of Brahma.
Lord Brahma comes first among the Trinity.Being the Grandfather of the People, he wishes for the welfare of all because all are his subjects. Being the presiding deity of Goddess Savitri and Saraswati, worshiping them is very fruitful for attaining knowledge, wisdom and all auspicious things. He alone is called ‘the creator’.
There is a special sect of worship of Lord Brahma which is famous by the name of ‘Vaikhanas Aagam’. In the name of Brahmaji, Shrautasutra, Grihyasutra, Smartasutra and Smritis are obtained.
Brahmaji is worshiped abstractly everywhere. In all types of Sarvatobhadra, Lingatobhadra and Vaastu etc. chakras, he is worshiped at the main place, but in the form of temples, he is mainly worshiped in Pushkar and Brahmavarta area (Bithoor).
Acharya Brahmaji is considered to be the original founder of Madhva sect, hence he is worshiped with great respect in the main Peethas of Udupi etc.
Why is Brahmaji not worshiped like other gods?
Lord Vishnu, Shivji,The reason for not worshiping the statue of Brahmaji like the statues of Shri Krishna, Shri Ram, Goddess Durga and Hanumanji is given in the Srishtikhand of Padmapuran –
All the gods and goddesses were present in the Mahayagya of Pushkar and after everyone’s puja, preparations for the Havan started, but Brahmaji’s wife Saraswati kept delaying even after calling the goddesses. There is no rule of performing Yagya without a wife and seeing the huge delay in starting the Yagya, gods like Indra made a girl named Savitri sit on the left side of Lord Brahma for some time.
After some time, when Saraswati ji reached there, she became angry after seeing all this and cursed the gods to be childless because of working without thinking and Brahma ji was not worshiped in the form of an idol in the temple except some places like Pushkar etc. Cursed to be.This is the reason why Brahmaji is not worshiped in the idol form anywhere else.
But this does not reduce the importance of Brahmaji because-
▪️ Brahmaji has the first place among the twelve Bhagavatacharyas (Lord Brahma, Lord Shankar, Devarshi Narad, Sankadi Kumar, Maharishi Kapil, Maharaj Manu, Devotee Prahlad, Maharaj Janak, Bhishmapitamah, Daityaraj Bali, Mahamuni Shukdevji and Yamrajji). At the beginning of creation, a luminous lotus appeared from the navel of Lord Sheshshayi Vishnu in Pralaysindhu and Lord Brahma appeared on the ear of that lotus. To see from where this lotus had emerged, Lord Brahma entered its umbilical cord hole and continued to trace that umbilical cord for thousands of years. But when no trace was found, at that very moment he heard the word ‘Tapa’ in an unexpressed voice and he continued to perform penance for a long time. He had a vision of God in his conscience and God preached ‘Chatu:sloki Bhagwat’ in four verses. Brahmaji gave this advice to Devarshi Narad and Naradji gave this advice to Lord Vyasji.Vyasji taught it to Shukdevji in the form of ‘Shrimad Bhagwat’. In this way the light of knowledge of Srimad Bhagwat spread in the world.
▪️ Whenever unrighteousness and immorality increase on earth, Mother Earth, suffering from the burden of evildoers, takes the form of a cow and goes to Lord Brahma. Similarly, when the gods also lose their kingdom after being defeated by the demons, they also often go to Lord Brahma.Lord Brahma along with the gods praises Lord Vishnu and then orders the gods to do whatever the Lord orders. Thus, most of the incarnations of God take place only through the prayers of Lord Brahma. Therefore, among the twenty-four incarnations of Lord Vishnu, Brahmaji has mostly been the instrument.
▪️ Whenever powerful people like Vishwamitra or Prithu start creating disturbances in the universe, then Lord Brahma has to come to convince them to maintain harmony in the universe.
▪️ Four Vedas emerged from the four mouths of Lord Brahma – Rigveda from the east mouth, Yajurveda from the south mouth, Samaveda from the west mouth and Atharvaveda from the north mouth.Apart from these, along with the Upavedas, ‘Pancham Veda’ also emerged from the mouth of Brahmaji in the form of Itihasa-Purana. Atharvaveda is in the name of Brahmaji, hence it is also called ‘Brahmaveda’.
▪️ Apart from these, the Ritvij like Hota, Udgata, Ardhvayu and Brahma etc. of Yagya have also appeared from Brahmaji. The chief inspector of the Yagya, Ritvij, is known by the name ‘Brahma’, who is usually situated in the south direction of the Yagya Kund and does the work of protecting and inspecting the Yagya.
▪️ Offerings are made to Brahmaji by respectfully invoking and worshiping him in Yagyaadi.
▪️ The sacred Samidha most used in Yagya is considered to be of Palash tree which is considered to be the form of Lord Brahma.
▪️ In the penance of gods and demons, Brahmaji is worshiped the most.Being engaged in the work of creation, they are satisfied only after performing very rigorous penance. He had given the boon of becoming indestructible to demons like Viprachitti, Tarak, Hiranyakashipu, Ravana, Gajasur and Tripura etc.Gods, sages, sages, Gandharvas, Kinnars and Vidyadhars etc. worship him.
▪️ Brahmaji had organized huge yagyas in Pushkar, Prayag and Brahmavart area, hence Pushkar and Prayag pilgrimages were established in the name of the lotus of Brahmaji, who is considered the king, priest and guru of all the pilgrimages. In the central part of Kashi, Lord Brahma had performed ten Ashwamedha Yagyas, due to which this place is called Dashashwamedh-kshetra.
For this reason Lord Brahma comes first among the Trinity.Being the Grandfather of the People, he wishes for the welfare of all because all are his subjects. Being the presiding deity of Goddess Savitri and Saraswati, worshiping them is very fruitful for attaining knowledge, wisdom and all auspicious things. He alone is called ‘the creator’.
