Goddess came in Raj’s dream and Sharda Mata temple built in Maihar
The temple of Maiharwali Mata is situated on the Trikuta hill of Maihar in the state of Madhya Pradesh, which is called the heart of India. The holy temple is one of the 51 Shaktipeeths of Goddess Parvati, where the necklace of Sati had fallen. One has to climb 1063 steps to reach the top of the temple and lakhs of devotees visit the temple throughout the year. Shri Sharda Mata Temple is situated in the Shivalik Hills on the border of Himachal and Haryana in Chhota Trilokpur, District Panchkula.
In this temple of Goddess Saraswati, Shipran is present in the form of “Pindi” and is also known as Shri Sharda Mata Ji. Devotees from all over the world including children, elders, women come to this temple and get their wishes from the goddess. This temple is more than 1000 years old. At that time village “Chhota Trilokpur” was under “Nahan” state. The residents here were very poor and lived in slums.One day their huts caught fire and people got scared. They went to the king of Nahan and requested for the protection of their wives. The king tried to find out the reason through his soldiers. The king was worried about this. One day the king had a dream in which the goddess said that I was ‘Sharada Mata’ in the form of Pindi and I was present at the place where the fire was burning. The king built a temple after installing the Pindi at that place.
This ‘Pindi’ is still present in the temple as ‘Darshan’ for the devotees. About forty years ago Late Fakir Chand (temple priest at that time) worshiped Goddess Shri Sharda Mata continuously. At night he had a dream in which ‘Mahakali’ asked him to build a temple for her too. From the same day, with the contribution of all the devotees and villagers, the idol of Maa Mahakali was installed on the right side of Shri Sharda Mata Temple and a small temple was also built on it, Which was renovated in 2006 by Shri Sharda Mata Mandir Charitable Society. A very big temple and the idol of Maa Mahakali was established with full rituals.
Shri Sharda Mata Temple has been rebuilt by the Charitable Society with the contribution of devotees. Every facility is provided by the society to the people coming from far away places.

If traveling by train, Maihar is well connected to Katni and Satna. Katni is one of the nearby junctions.
