The temple of Balaji at Ghat, located on the way to Galta Ji in Jaipur, is at least 500 years old. There is a belief about this temple that Balaji fulfills the wishes made with a true heart. Many people also perform ‘Savamani’ here after their wishes are fulfilled.

If any work is started here after making efforts, it becomes successful. Perhaps this is the reason why the family deity of many families in Jaipur and its surrounding areas is Balaji of the Ghat. The rituals of these families take place in this temple. The statue of Bajrangbali is said to have appeared on its own and later the king of Amer had built a temple here.

The main gate here is built like an old mansion, but upon entering, a grand building is visible. There are some umbrellas also in the courtyard. After climbing some stairs, there is Jagmohan where Balaji of the ghat is seated. This life-size statue is covered with vermilion every Tuesday and Saturday. A small idol of Hanuman ji is installed nearby here. There are murals on the walls.However, due to lack of maintenance and some new construction, they are becoming tarnished. Here five idols of Lord Ganesha are installed in the temple. Here in the Shiva temple, Nandi and pillars are made in the Dravidian style of the South. Galata Shrine is located just a few kilometers away from here.

The specialty of this temple is the Paushabada festival organized here in the month of Paush. More than one lakh people take collective Prasad in this event. In the bitter cold of Paush month, people consider themselves blessed by eating hot pakodas and halwa prasadi. Preparations for making Prasad start two-three days before the date of the event. Along with Paush Bada programme, festivals like Sharad Purnima, Hanuman Jayanti, Ram Navami etc. are also celebrated with great pomp here.
