History
In 1855, Awadh
The Nawab of K saved the temple from destruction by the Muslims. Muslims thought that Hanumangarhi was built on top of a mosque. Historian Sarvepalli Gopal has said that the dispute of 1855 was not for the Babri Masjid-Ram Mandir site but for the Hanuman Garhi temple between Muslims and Ramanandi Bairagis.
