Dadu Palka, Bhairana, Rajasthan
Saint Dadu Ji Brahmalin was born here
Dadu Palka, located 65 kilometers from Jaipur city on the Jaipur-Ajmer highway, is a unique pilgrimage site in itself. Years ago the famous saint Shri Dadu ji had attained Brahmalin at this place. Before leaving his body, he had asked his followers to leave his body in the shell of Bhairana mountain. Since then this place has been purified by the penance of countless saints.
Dadu Vani Temple, Cave Temple and Dadu Khol are the major pilgrimage sites here. According to the belief, after leaving the body, the followers of Dadu sect, instead of burning or burying it, leave it on Bhairana mountain located in Dadu Palka. This tradition has been going on continuously since ancient times. People of Dadu sect also know this place by the name of Dadu Palka or Mukti Dham. It was named Dadu Palka because it was at this place that Saint Daduji’s palanquin was seen for the last time.
According to the prevalent tradition, the body of all the saints and Mahatmas who do penance here, after their dissolution in Brahma, is left in the shell located on Bhairana mountain. On the occasion of the Brahmalin of Dadu sect saints, fairs are organized here in the form of a festival, in which thousands of people of Dadu sect from all over the country participate.
