Thaneshwar Temple Samastipur

People have immense faith and belief in Thaneshwar Nath situated in the heart of Samastipur. Therefore, there is a crowd of devotees here every day to fulfill their wishes. On the occasion of Monday of Sawan, people from other areas also come here carrying water from Chamtha, Simaria or Jhamatiya and carry Kanwar and perform Jalabhishek.

Crowds gather in Sawan: Especially in the month of Sawan, devotees from far and wide fill Ganga water and perform Jalabhishek. This temple has its own history. Thaneshwar temple of Samastipur city remains a center of religious faith. In this temple, Shiva is seated with Parvati. The wishes of the devotees who worship with a true heart are fulfilled. Every wish of the people who bow their heads here is fulfilled.

Mahadev incarnated in a Peepal tree: Regarding the history of Samastipur Thaneshwar temple, it is said that in 1901 there was a huge Peepal tree here. Mahadev appeared in the form of Shivling near it. After that people started worshiping it. This temple kept on spreading and today it is known as a grand temple. People come here from far and wide to worship. It is said that those who come here to worship with a true heart, all the wishes of the devotee are fulfilled.

Established in 1901: The Thaneshwar temple of the city is located in the district headquarters. There are two ways to reach from the station. This temple is situated in front of the bus stand. That is why the devotees coming to this temple do not face any problem. The priest here, Vipin Jha, says that this temple was established in 1901. People from different areas come to worship in the month of Saavan. Especially on Mondays, there are tight security arrangements in the temple.

Why it was named Thaneshwar: Experts say that ever since God appeared in the Peepal tree, worship has been going on here. The temple was established in 1901. Since there is a city police station nearby, this temple was named Thaneshwar Temple. The faith of devotees from Samastipur district as well as the surrounding districts is associated with this temple.
