Maa kamakhya Temple Gahmar,Ghazipur

This temple is dedicated to Adishakti Maa Bhavani Durga Mata. According to old beliefs, Maa Kamakhya has been described as the family goddess of Sikarwar dynasty Rajputs.  A fair is organized here for the holy nine days of Navratri. By the way, thousands of people come to visit the temple everyday.This temple is located in village Karhiya under Sevarai tehsil (earlier Zamania tehsil) in Ghazipur district of Uttar Pradesh.

There is a pond built near the temple premises, around which there are stairs. Where devotees can also take bath etc. Courtesy of the Forest Department, Uttar Pradesh, a small park has also been built near the temple.The temple has been newly constructed. The premises of this temple have been built very beautifully.

Mainly the idol of Mata Kamakhya is in the center whereas idols of other Gods and Goddesses are installed in the complex.The doors of the temple are opened for darshan to the devotees only after Mangala Aarti is performed by the chief priest every day at 4:30 in the morning.

So it is closed after 12:30 in the afternoon. After 2:30 pm, the doors of the temple again open for the devotees. After 9:30 pm the temple is closed after the Aarti.
