Angar Moti Mata Temple Dhamtari

The presiding forest of 52 villages is Devi Maa – Angarmoti Mata. All the wishes are fulfilled only by the philosophy of Angarmoti Mata located in the other end of Gangrel Dam.

Mother Angarmoti is Virajit in one end of the Gangrel Dam built in the Mahanadi called Pranadini River in the state of Chhattisgarh. Where thousands of devotees come to devotees every year for their wishes, they offer their wishes at the feet of the mother.

The Angarmoti Mata Temple is respected in a huge platform near Mahanadi. Due to the entrance and forest goddess of Dandakaranya, the temple of Mother has not been constructed, the mother is still enthroned in the open place. For 400 years, only people of Netam family of Kashyap dynasty have been worshiping Mataji.

Recognition – It is said that Angarmoti Mata and Vindhyasini Mata (Bilai Mata) are both real sisters. Both of them are the daughter of sage Angira. Whose ashram is located in Ghatula near Sihawa. In the north direction of Mahanadi, Mata Vindhyasini is located towards the city of Dhamtari and Angarmoti Mata Temple towards the south direction of Mahanadi.

There is a practice of sacrificing the Mother Goddess, which are still prevalent today. So that all the wishes of the devotees are fulfilled. On every Friday of the week, there is an influx of sacrifices.

Festival – After Deepawali, a grand fair is organized here on the first Friday of the week. Apart from this, devotees come to visit the mother’s court every year in Chaitra and Sharadiya Navratri for their wishes.

History – When Gangrel Dam was being constructed in 1972, 52 villages of Dhamtari district were absorbed inside this dam. One of them also started coming inside this dam. The idol of Mataji in Gram-Chandar was enthroned for 600 years. Due to the inside of the under -construction dam, his statue was installed under the huge tree in the platform of one end of the Gangrel dam.

Legend – It is said that when Mata ji was enthroned in the village Chanwar, some thieves stole their idol, but could not take their feet. The same stages were re-respected near the Gangrel dam, and the idol was made again by law.
