Share

The glory of China Mateshwar Dham temple is unique, the mystery of Shivling is connected to the underworld

Baba Mateshwer Dham temple, popularly known as Mini Baba Dham in Balwahat under Simri Bakhtiyarpur block of Saharsa district, has a wonderful Shivalinga which has sprouted on its own. This miraculous black stone Shivlinga appears to have emerged from the netherworld. Many interesting incidents and folklore related to Baba Mateshwar are discussed in this area. This Shivling is filled with water throughout the year except during the month of Saavan and Bhado. Till date, even the biggest engineers and the Archaeological department have been unsuccessful in locating it. This Shivling has no contact with the earth and there is a platform made of black stone and around the Shivling there is a circular empty space of one and half inches which is always filled with water, the depth of which is indescribable.

Generation after generation have passed but its depth has not been ascertained till now. It is believed that whatever wishes are made in this temple, Mahadev definitely fulfills them. Recently, when the Archaeological Department excavated the temple premises, many ancient and rare statues of gods were found. Although devotees from far and wide come to Mateshwar Dham to offer prayers throughout the year, but especially in the month of Saavan, thousands and lakhs of devotees come here to perform Jalabhishek on the Shivling. For which the administration keeps a tight security system here.
