(Lakhimpur): Bhuiyan Mata Temple is one of the four Shaktipeeths of the city. No one knows about its construction and establishment, but it is said that hundreds of years ago, an idol of Maa Durga was found kept under a Neem tree. Which started being worshiped by the people here.After some time, people built a small monastery at this place. This Mathiya remained the center of people’s faith for many years. People named the idol of Maa Durga found on the ground as Bhuiyan Mata.

The priests of the temple say that this temple is hundreds of years old. Due to the idol of Maa Durga being found on the ground near the pond under a Neem tree, she has been called Bhuiyan Mata. Situated on Sitapur Road, this temple also serves as a resting place for the travelers. Apart from this, Shrimad Bhagwat is held here in January. Apart from Navratri, programs are organized on various festivals in the main festivals of the temple and clothes are also distributed to the poor.
The grand structure of the temple has been built with public cooperation.
Those who saw the arrangement of the temple say that initially there was a Mathiya, but with public cooperation the temple building was completed. Worship etc. is done here by the devotees. People also perform Yajnopavit, Mundan, Annaprashan etc. for their children.
